Gameplay and Controls

In “we becom what we behold,” players engage in a captivating experience that revolves around capturing images of various characters traversing the screen. The main mechanism involves using a camera to photograph these characters, which then triggers a series of social reactions and interactions. As you shoot photos, they are showcased on a small television, making the choice of what to publicize crucial.

The characters include a blend of “normal peeps” with distinctive square and round heads. Among them, there’s a notable character—a man with a hat—who becomes a focal point. When you photograph this character, a ripple effect occurs: suddenly, everyone wants to wear a hat, only for the trend to quickly flip as it becomes too mainstream.

Another interesting dynamic is created with the couple in love. Capturing them leads to a public shaming, causing their presence to dwindle from the streets. The game’s narrative also introduces a character known for their anger, where photographing them in action stirs up a media frenzy, showcasing how anger and fear can spiral out of control.

Overall, we becom what we behold cleverly reflects societal tendencies and the influence of media through its unique gameplay mechanics. Players can control the outcomes of the game’s social dynamics by strategically choosing what to photograph, making each session an insightful exploration of human behavior.

To capture these moments, simply use the left mouse button. It’s an engaging mix of observation, strategy, and a touch of social commentary—all wrapped up in a minimalist design and accompanied by pleasant sound effects.
